These animations may take a short while to download. After almost 30 years bird-watching, Friday 9 March 2000 was probably one of the most exciting days for me. Standing on the high rocky cliffs of Carn Gloose (nr St Just) gave great views of the Cornish coast. To do animations a series of photos taken in quick succession is needed. This Gyrfalcon spent most of its time sitting on the rocks below and looking out to sea. Every now and again, however, it would fly along the cliff tops coming very close at times. The left animation shows one such sequence of photos. On another occassion the bird flew quite high and circled. It then glided in overhead allowing me to take some 20 photos (right animation).
